Copywrite78

December 14, 2000 – Interview – by Jbutters

Copywrite78With his new album “The High Exaulted” set to be released this winter off of Rawkus Records/Eastern Conference MHZ frontman Copywrite78 steps into the hotseat to reveal what’s on the horizon for him as a solo artist and his sensitive side? Huh! Peep the Interview

Jbutters: Most groups usually come out with an LP and then release solo material. Why is your crew putting out solo’s first and then the group LP and what do you hope to gain from this?

COPYWRITE: The MHz is putting out solo shit first because, #1 we can & because we are all solo artists anyway to begin with. We’re doing this cause we have done so much group shit in the past (Jakki excluded) & right now, we are at the point where we don’t want have to compromise with anyone else. Expect a MHz 12” on Eastern Conference soon though.

JB: Do you feel that putting out solos would actually prolong the life of a group because you don’t have to compromise with other members?

C: Yeah. It’s just like when you’re roommates with somebody. Your gonna need your space or your gonna flip out & hate the muthafuckers’ guts. People need space & that’s exactly what this is.

JB: How do you feel about having your release coming off of Rawkus?

C: I’m gonna be honest. It’s whatever. If my single dropped on wrap records, I know that heads that feel my shit would have copped it when they saw it. Label names don’t really concern me. ESPECIALLY that one.

JB: A lot of times when an artist puts out a solo album they have mad unreleased shit or songs they wrote a while ago but never used will that be the case with your album or is it all new material

C: Not at all. My album is all new material. I’ve never even done a solo song before, signed or unsigned. “Holier Than Thou” was my very first stab ever at a solo song & this album is completely new shit.

JB: Speaking of “Holier Than Thou” I kind of noticed you have a few songs with religious titles is there any significance to that?

C: Nah, other than the fact I used to be kind of spiritual. Nowadays I can’t walk out of a store without stealing, but that’s another story. It’s weird, I’ll just come up with lines & they’ll just so happen to be sacrilegious, I’m not against God or any shit like that. I love the guy, but I mean I’m thinking with my penis.

JB: Haha Why aren’t you spiritual anymore though?

C: To put it short & sweet I stopped givin’ a shit. I started gettin’ a lot more selfish & that’s the point I’m at now. I know if I were to die tomorrow, I’d burn in hell eternally. I just really don’t care.

JB: If you had only one day to live what would you do?

C: Rob a bank, give the money to my family, rape every bitch that I find attractive, be the biggest dick that ever walked the face of the earth, & blow up every major label. I’d try & find time to chill with my boys & also record mad material. All the new shit I haven’t recorded & write a will out too.

JB: Damn that’s a lot for one day

C: I try to keep busy.

JB: Yo in a lot of your songs you sound pretty pissed off what’s the first thing you think about before you spit a rhyme kicking someone’s ass?

C: How mutherfuckers have been rhymin’ for years & STILL haven’t caught on & how they need a nice muthafucka to educate them on how it’s executed.

JB: Where do you stay at right now last time I checked you were moving back and forth between Columbus and NYC

C: I lived in NY last time you checked, I was just visiting Columbus. I’m in Middletown, NY, where little girls & dogs procreate. I’ll be back in oh-10 though.

JB: Have you ever performed at Scribble Jam?

C: Yeah, a little after “World premier” dropped, in ‘98.

JB: You ever thought about entering the MC battle?

C: Yeah I just haven’t had the time right now. As soon as I get this album out the way & shit I plan on gettin’ in battles. Jakki & me already spoke on that.

JB: I’ve been hearing a lot about the Weathermen lately what are some positives being in a crew like that offer you as an artist?

C: It’s like this, when we drop shit, Cage fans get a chance to hear my shit, EL-P’s fans get a chance to hear Jakki’s shit, cats that know Breeze, but may not know Yak will get a chance to hear Yak’s shit & so on & so forth. Those are basically the perks, besides the fact were one of the underground’s most powerful crews.

JB: Any other incentives like an ill benefits package or 401k plan

C: Nice dental plan & we share pussy.

JB: So I’m guessing you get mad groupies I saw a picture on the Eastern Conference site of you holding some chick’s breast where can I meet women like that?

C: At your local brothel or Willus Drummond’s mom’s house

JB: What’s up with the new pic on the front of the www.mhzsite.com?

C: That’s some dumb whore that got drunk, fucked & used for a homepage. I did it, simply because I thought she was a nice girl & needed the exposure.

JB: How long have you been making beats and do you see yourself as a more accomplished MC or producer, which do you put more time into?

C: Emceeing. Most definitely. I don’t take myself serious as a producer. I know I can make ill beats, because that’s just my attitude. Anything I’m gonna spend my time on ISN’T gonna be wack, unless I want it to. I’ve been doing beats since about 97-98.It’s all about knowing how shit should sound. I also don’t really like rhymin’ to my own beats.

JB: Why not?

C: I dunno. It’s just not fun to me. It’s like me talkin’ to myself in my bedroom. It’s more fun to find a cat with an ill beat & team up with him, that’s why if you notice all the beats I’ve produced I haven’t rhymed to by myself, “Widespread” is Jakki’s joint & we rocked it together, the MHz joint on my album, “3 Words” is produced by me, but it’s me, Tage proto & Camu tao rockin’ on it.

JB: So then I’m guessing your album is gonna have mad production from other cats

C: Yeah. I only did one track.

JB: How many producers you got on there and who

C: Rjd2, Mighty Mi, Intalec & El-p so far. Count on me to do some production on Jakki’s EP, the Weathermen album & Cage’s album as well. Not much though.

JB: What do you predict will happen once the album drops. What’s your “Forecast”?

C: My forecast is I’ll have a little more dough to blow on strip clubs, I’ll have a bigger fanbase & it’ll just open more opportunities…like me gettin’ my ex-girl back.

JB: With all the groupies why would you want your ex girl back

C: I love her. But I’m a fuckin’ idiot.

JB: So why is she your ex girl?

C: Cause I could fuck up a soup sandwich.

JB: Haha do you want me to edit this out? I don’t want the cats on the MHZ message board thinking your soft

C: I don’t give a fuck. I am soft. I’m into hippie hop. I like Anticon.

JB: I like some of them

C: To each his own.

JB: Don’t you like Beanie Seigel or something too

C: Huh? Nah, not really. I mean he’s ok, I like Jay-z

JB: Word your underground though you’re supposed to hate all those guys heh

C: “I’m underground, but don’t follow underground stereotypes” —-Jakki the mota mouth

JB: I read in one of your interviews on your dream record you would have Jesus on the hook would you have him reading scriptures or what?

C: Nah, talkin’ shit off his head. Who could fuck with that? Who’s gonna say “Jesus’ part was weak!” you know??

JB: Hahaha that would be an ill interlude

C: Hell yeah it might.

JB: Do you ever see yourself producing for other cats outside your crew

C: Yeah. beats for anyone with the money to pay for them.

JB: A true businessman

C: Nah not really. The only kid I really enjoy givin’ beats to is Jakki. He seems to be the only emcee that really feels my shit. Haha

JB: Do you feel it is important for all artists to become self reliant producing beats and eventually putting out their own music on an independent label

C: Yes. Once you learn, fly away!!!!!!!

JB: What are some of your long term and short term goals inside and outside of hiphop?

C: Expanding limits, giving teeny boppers hope, being “the next dope shit” & buying lots of trucks.

JB: Do you have a favorite quote or saying that helps you guide your life?

C: “Why buy the cow when you can get the sex for free?”

JB: haha So you don’t have any plans on getting married

C: Nah, playboy.

JB: If you wrote a book about your life what would be the title?

C: Mr.fuck up

JB: Will you be performing anytime soon to hype up the album release?

C: Definitely.

JB: Any dates or events confirmed

C: Nah nothing definite.

JB: Why did you feel you needed to move to NYC to put out your music?

C: I love Columbus & I can’t wait to go back, BUT I would have been lying to myself & short changing myself if I would have stayed in Columbus, only because it’s too far to commute to record & I wanted to do this so that I couldn’t regret it later in life. Let’s face it, New York is the mecca of hiphop. Columbus Ohio’s scene is one open Mic, with mad ill cats. The only downfall to Columbus is cats love to hate. As soon as they see you makin’ moves they don’t like you anymore. The heads that rhyme usually are jealous & wanna hate cause they aren’t in your shoes. Peace to Greenhouse effect, Jakki, Intalec, Sample God, Phazo, Lozone, Truskillz, Drastic, Epic, Bombay, Illogic, Anon, Letter People, 3 ms, Prizm, Metro, Flip everyone else, basically eat a dick.

JB: What new shit will your album bring that separates you from everything else dropping these days?

C: What has separated me from most cats in the past. The fact that I take time with my shit. I make sure I love everything that I spit or rhyme to. I’m not one of these Canibus cats that put out a wack album, complain about the beats & then drop another fuckin’ wack album.

JB: Haha How come you weren’t on the Smut Peddlers album out of curiosity

C: They didn’t want mad guest appearances & that’s only an EP, not the album. Most of the album they already had recorded before I moved out here anyway.

JB: That’s only an EP?

C: yeah. Porn Again is a “FOOT LONG LENGTH EP” the album drops later this year.

JB: I saw some pics on your site with Beetlejuice on there you a big fan? haha

C: He’s hilarious, but I wouldn’t go so far as to saying I’m a “big fan” he’s a funny midget idiot, but that’s about it. Now, Kevin Smith on the other hand, I’m definitely a fan of his.

JB: Kevin Smith?

C: He directed & wrote Mallrats, Clerks & Dogma.

JB: He is the dude in Dogma that hardly talked right?

C: Yeah, silent bob

JB: Did you like Dogma I don’t know about that one, I thought it was going to be funnier?

C: Dogma is ill, but you must be a new jack. Go check Clerks first. Then Mallrats, then skip Chasing Amy, then Dogma, then Scream 3 for the Jay & Silent Bob cameo

JB: What is one thing that you want everyone reading this interview to know?

C: That Copywrite78 is more than just a battle rhymer. I’m a sensitive guy with needs. I need affection, love & sloppy dick sucks.

JB: Haha Aight Promotion time and shouts and all that, you can say what’s up to your ex and show your sensitive side

C: My ex don’t know shit about underground hip hop. I’ll just shout out my friends. Peace to Tero Jones, Elliot Mcdaniel, Masia Bey, Yasher Mahagazaday, Ramble Krohn, Derek Baldwin & the rest of the Smith brothers. www.mhzsite.com Go there muthafuckas! “The High Exhaulted” drops March sometime, steal it if you gotta. It will come with instructions on how to steal it on the back. I’m all for the poor.

JB: Haha what if they download it?

C: I’d rather them get their lazy asses out the house & at least steal it, shit at least if they risk their freedom it’ll show me some kind of support.

AdeeM

December 2, 2000 – Interview – by Jbutters

AdeeMTake a trip with me through the mind of one of the sickest freestylers to ever touch the mic. Coming straight out of Keene, NH (aka Keensbridge because he says it sounds tougher) is Adeem. The Scribble Jam ‘98 champion and full time rapper shares his thought on hiphop and spirituality.

Jbutters: Sole once told me he taught you everything you know is that true?

Adeem: You’re lying and if you’re not lying he’s lying haha

JB: Haha

A: I am a self-taught rapper

JB: Do you think that being from New Hampshire helped you develop a unique style?

A: Yes and no, I think that being secluded has made me my own person but also it has given me the ability to only be subjected to what I choose to give my ears which is pretty fresh

JB: How did your surroundings influence you?

A: It made me sarcastic. Everyone around me really has no idea about the background of what I am involved in. I had to work really hard to get dope music by driving to places and going to see shows, it was difficult but rewarding

JB: How did you develop your freestyling abilities

A: Practice

JB: Just rhyming alone in your room?

A: Yes and at parties, in the car, at open Mics, anywhere I could

JB: When was your first actual battle? And did you win

A: Oh man my first battle was in 94 some kids from Boston they were not very good but neither was I but if it makes me look tougher we can say that I won

JB: Haha I’m sure you can take them out now

A: Probably, but battles are never predictable

JB: As far as knowing how nice the other person is?

A: The other person, the judges, the crowd, yourself there are a lot of variables

JB: A lot of dope freestylers like say Supernatural are incredible off the top but struggle with written rhymes why do you think that is?

A: They don’t focus or care, freestyling can be a crutch what really matters is if you can do both. Conceptualizing a song and learning how to take that from paper to the Mic are difficult things. However they are necessary to be a complete rapper. Freestyling will only get you so far

JB: What type of strategies do you bring to the battle?

A: Well first of all half the people who suck at battling are no good because they take it so seriously. Dudes freak when they lose. There is no progression if you don’t have a “it’s all fun” attitude. There is always a strategy but it varies from person to person I just try to out flow people and make then look dumb. It’s about being more on point i have rarely seen a good battle

JB: Not even your own?

A: I have been in some good ones definitely

JB: What have been some of your most interesting battles

A: When I battled P.E.A.C.E. from Freestyle Fellowship and virtuoso from Boston those two were pretty interesting

JB: I heard you battled at Braggin Rights how was that experience and was that the first time you performed in New York?

A: Yo man that was horrible

JB: Really?

A: Those battles are no good, Sage and me went and we got ripped off. It’s a joke battle and it’s run terribly

JB: The crowd can be very biased

A: People just bring their friends my experience was funny as hell I got ganged up on

JB: Yea I heard something like that I believe Pumpkinhead was there and Subconscious

A: Hahaha Yeah those guys oh wow it was great we have the video. They set it up so 4 people battle at once sort of you get a minute and a half so of course they were all homies and I had to go first. So I just brought to each of them the best that I could. The crowd actually yells more times for me while I am rapping. Then they decided to take their turns just coming at me. All the responses were really bad but all their friends thought it was funny to play the “one of these MCs doesn’t belong” game so they gave it to Pumpkinhead it was too bad but that’s the way that it goes

JB: Word a bad experience in NYC have you been back since?

A: I have actually been back to NY a couple of times to do shows it’s been pretty cool

JB: Where have you performed?

A: Twice at NYU

JB: Have you been up to 89.9 Bobbitto’s CM Famalam Show?

A: Nope always wanted to though someday I will make it up there

JB: Did you catch that horrible Blaze Battle? Peace to Eyedea though

A: Hahahaha Yo man I taped the Blaze battle and it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen it was not even fair that Eyedea was on the same stage he ripped everyone

JB: My friend in Arkansas knows Eyedea now that’s pretty funny I don’t know how some of those people advanced

A: Haha yeah man Eyedea rules he is an amazing battler

JB: Off the battle topics for a moment I heard you perform with a hardcore band tell me about that?

A: well I was for a little bit, the guitar player that I was working with actually passed away in may

JB: Oh.. I’m sorry to hear that

A: He was a good friend they have been regrouping but have started playing again hopefully I will start back up

JB: Is it true that you also write poetry?

A: Yes I write is constantly

JB: Do you ever enter into any poetry slams or spoken word contests?

A: Actually I never have but I always meant to I will sometime soon.. I just have to memorize something. slams are awesome, have you ever seen Sage Francis slam? He is the master

JB: Nah I haven’t had a chance to see him. What are some of your poems about?

A: My poems are about everything anything that I encounter anything that I feel I try to take simple emotion and twist it into something new and fresh that’s the same way that I approach my songs

JB: Do you DJ as well?

A: Yeah I dabble I scratch more than I rap

JB: Do you ever DJ any shows?

A: Umm some, me and Shalem and a friend have a routine that we do around here I DJ some parties. DJ Hairy Manilow, a dope DJ who’s my favorite right now

JB: Are you a local legend?

A: Something like that haha

JB: Haha that must feel great

A: People don’t know how to react they don’t really know any better but some of them really like the music others just think that I am a weird person who they can’t understand

JB: Do they come up to you in awe just to shake your hand?

A: Hahahaha no not quite yet, they drool and pass out

JB: Haha

A: Some people fall out of there wheel chairs just to give me dap

JB: Hahaa Do you have any girls crying when you walk by and wave?

A: Nope I ignore all that jazz, teenybopper girls are useless

JB: Has there been any growing resemblance of a hiphop scene in New Hampshire since your days of driving far to see shows and buy records?

A: There is a little one mostly thugged out but cool

JB: Thugged out New Hampshire rappers?

A: I have found some other kids who are amazing as well yeah man life is trife in the sticks ever heard of Passage and Bomarr Monk? Those are 2 of NH’s finest

JB: Nah never heard of them I thought that you were the only one

A: Nope these are some new kids that are working with Anticon they are really dope

JB: Speaking of Anticon do you see yourself moving to Cali with the other Anticon crew?

A: Nope i do my own thing I will be going to Cali in January to record an album with Moodswing 9. Me and Shalem roll 2 deep

JB: My friend said Moodswing is born again now

A: Yeah so am I, it will be a religiously toned album

JB: What brought about the change?

A: I have been a Christian since 1991 it’s a hard thing to put into words. I just realized that there was a God and a Jesus and that he died for my sins it’s a lot more detailed than that but you know… being a Christian is a scary word for a lot of people

JB: I think it depends on how the ideas are brought to them

A: Yeah it’s hard

JB: Some people are more forceful with there beliefs which can turn some people off

A: Yeah that is no good

JB: Do you go on any retreats to clear your mind?

A: No I haven’t in a while. I have tried to be able to do that in my own head it’s hard but sometimes you have to. Life piles up a lot of junk for you to deal with but you to just sit and think and realize where you are going and what your goals are. If that means taking it one day at a time then that is what you have to do..

JB: Do you ever see yourself leaving Keenesbridge to develop your career more?

A: Yes when I am ready at some point it will be necessary but my goal is to live in the country with a studio in the basement and enjoy life..

JB: Musically and personally how do you feel your life would be different if you grew up in a large city?

A: It’s hard to guess this music and who i am as a person are very based on my beliefs and what I have seen so I am not sure how that would be effected. If it had not gone the way that it did I would like to think that I would be still doing the same music and be the same person because I am proud of both

JB: So what is Adeem’s day job?

A: As of last week Full time Rapper

JB: Oh word quit or fired?

A: Quit, I had a great job that I enjoyed but it took to much time away from music. I wanted to devote all my time to making my art better and more polished focusing on recording and performing live

JB: Do you feel music will be enough to sustain you financially?

A: Hopefully, I have three projects in the works plus I have saved up money to be able to do this

JB: What are those three projects?

A: Dorian Three, Moodswing 9/Adeem Album, and the Shalem/Adeem album…and anything else that comes along the way Dorian Three is selling well

JB: Will the Moodswing9 Album be more thought provoking written material or pure freestyle?

A: All written it’s all poetry and song

JB: The Shalem/Adeem album is that the “First Few Inches”?

A: Nope the “First Few Inches” was never meant to be anything. It was just supposed to be sold at scribble 99 but people really like it apparently and keep buying it. The Shalem/Adeem album is what I have been working on the past year

JB: What’s the name of the album and when can we expect it to be released?

A: Your guess is as good as mine

JB: That would be a pretty good title right there

A: ha yeah maybe

JB: Who is in the Dorian Three and what do you guys have planned for the upcoming year?

A: The Dorian Three is me, Shalem, and Adverse we have a CD that is already done, we may release it on a bigger level

JB: I read in one of your interviews that you never kicked a written freestyle what pushes you to keep your rhymes strictly off the top?

A: I owe it to the people listening to me. If I say it’s freestyle then it will be freestyle damn it. It’s a rule that I live by

JB: Do you feel that being such a good freestyler will overshadow anything you put on paper? If so how do you feel you can overcome that

A: Well yeah that becomes a problem because if you get to used to freestyling it’s hard to concentrate on written material. I am hoping that people will enjoy it when things are more thought out and well executed

JB: Will you be as active in battles now or are you going to concentrate on doing shows?

A: Shows for the most part but I will battle when I can

JB: I’m out of questions is there anything else you want the fans in cyberspace to see?

A: Yea shirley temples are the best drink in the world and that the dorian three is about to take over the world and manifest on da gawds on da errfff..plus the the vinyl monkies rule the universe

Yak Ballz

December 2, 2000 – Interview – by Jbutters

Yak BallzWith his single Homepiss b/w The Plague available on Fondle Em Records and member of the crew The Weathermen, Y@k has a lot going on in his life these days. I caught up with him on AOL to discuss a variety of topics including why he won’t be releasing his next single on Fondle Em and his surprising distaste for freestyling.

Jbutters: So where do you work now that Footwork closed?

Y@k Ballz: I am currently unemployed… I’m a full time student living at school now..my Footwork days are long gone… now the internet took my job… www.BobbitosFootwork.net… and Vaz’s and Eli’s for that matter… RIP FOOTWORK… the dungeon on E9th

JB: Where do you go to school?

Y: That information is TOP SECRET… I’d have to kill u if I told u..

JB: Haha well can you at least tell me what you’re studying? Is it Street Gynecology? Yo what the hell is a Street Gynecologist anyway?

Y: Hahaaa……Street Gynecology is what I practice on a regular basis…knowhumsayin? but I’m majoring in Computer Science….who knows if I’ll stick wit it though……lemme tell u what street gynecology is…I like that question…I’m always saying I’m a doctor….Street Gynecology …is the type of raw shit doctor’s like me enjoy best..its like some ill perverted shit…getting real downright dirty rotten scoundrel Jeru shit when it comes to being wit a Slore…SLUT-WHORE

JB: Haha

Y: As me and my fellow Weathermen call them

JB: Aside from being a member of the weathermen how has life changed since you dropped your 12”

Y: I’ve definitely gained respect from people that I’ve been a fan of …and I get a lot more kids annoying me..

JB: How so?

Y: Kids on the internet foolish cuz they got nothing better to do with their lives then try to get a response from me.. shit like kids saying I SUK or saying that I sound like Cage… all that bullshit.. they probably know all the words anyway…the positives outweigh the negatives though….

JB: Word, Speaking about the 12”, you have gotten good reviews so far how do you plan on building off of that success?

Y: Bobbito told me once to take it all in stride…that’s basically what I’m doing… I love making good music… I gotta stay on my toes… so the next shit is definitely gotta be strong… and better then the shit before

JB: Will you be releasing the next single on Fondle em as well?

Y: Nahhhhhhhh…releasing my first shit on Fondle’em was something I had to do…its like the first step up the ladder of success…now its time to move on …I’m grateful for what Fondle Em records has done for me…..

JB: So do you have a label that you will be releasing your new single off of or are you still shopping labels?

Y: I’m looking into Eastern Conference…or Def Jux…..most likely one of those two..time will tell..

JB: Switching gears a little bit being a Braggin Rights veteran do you think the art of freestyling is dead now that a lot of emcees come with written rhymes?

Y: I loved battling when I did it…but battling really isn’t about Skills anymore, its all theatrics…..you really can’t develop your style strictly battling…..there are so many kids that rely on battling but couldn’t make a record if their life depended on it…..so as far as freestyling…that shit is weak to me……I barely do it anymore….I’d rather hear a written…

JB: Did you ever come to the battle with written rhymes?

Y: I think a battle is like a War…Your not gonna step into War without a strategy… I don’t care how nice u are… so yes I did… but you have to improvise on stage. That’s what the art of freestyling is… improvising and making shit ill at that very moment off the top niggaz freestyle for hours and shit using easy ass words… shit is corny… its all the same shit after a while

JB: I noticed like you said that a lot of battle MCs cant write rhymes for songs what other types of rhymes will you get into can we expect some story telling type of rhymes. what do you have planned for the next single

Y: I got some shit..Wait and See..WAS crew big up

JB: Where do you feel the opinions of fellow MCs rank in importance to you?

Y: I always take criticism constructively… if I kick some shit for Cage, Copy, or Camu… and they tell me that maybe I should scratch this and change something else… I always listen… they are a lot further ahead in this game then I am… so their opinions mean a lot to me

JB: What motivates you to grab the Mic?

Y: Its the greatest feeling ….the iLLest rush……its better then drugs …………….really cant explain it that much….and groupies are ill too…female ONES

JB: So you already have a complete set of Yak Ballz groupies?

Y: Hahahah….awwww man..what kind of question is that..? I don’t think its complete yeT..it will never be….the more patients that step into the doctor’s office the better….u knowhumsayin?

JB: Haha I guess there are never enough groupies

Y: Word to the third

JB: Not many question your skills but some critics do question your ability to hold down a full length how do you respond to them?

Y: FUCK EM……I am not trying to put out an album yet anyway…..take it how u want….

JB: How will you avoid being labeled as just another underground MC with dope punchlines?

Y: I’m trying to take it to another level…..I know everyone says that shit….but I ain’t fucking around….I take this shit seriously………The Force is with me…that’s all I need…….punchlines are dope…but they only go so far….you gotta come wit the buttaZ…you know?

JB: If you could mail one person a letter bomb who would that be, and why?

Y: Hmmmmmmmmm………..I gotta think about this one…..I mean there is no one person…

JB: A crew? A state?

Y: I’d like to send a whole bunch of them out… cuz mothafukaz be getting on my nerves… well Extended Fam would be up on that list…bunch of internet ducks

JB: Haha here is another important question, How much do you really have to drink to take a HOMEPISS?

Y: I’m not a big drinker… I ain’t gonna front… but I’m straight wit like 2 40’s… but I smoke like a fuckin Chimney… I love smoking…

JB: Exactly what you smoking is the question

Y: That’s a rhetorical question isn’t it? u know the deal kid “JaRs-a-Dro”…as Beanie Mac would say…it don’t always come in jars though Haha

JB: What do you think you bring to the Mic that other MCs lack?

Y: I think my WeathermenZ and me bring what was always supposed to be brought to the Mic… or a cipher…or the studio… SKILLZ… there’s no excuse for being wack… f you suck then this shit ain’t for u…. go pick up another hobby just like you picked up this one… everybody rhymes now… just look at Lil Bow Wow… if he can do it so can you!!

JB: What are your plans for the future where are you trying to take your career?

Y: Right now…its real sketchy cuz I’m going to school and shit… trying to do that part… and then the music at the same time… but I’d like to put out at least one full length before my career is over… some major label shit… some classic Queens shit

JB: Some Mobb Deep shit

Y: Mobb Deep is one of many… from TatooiNe

JB: So could you see yourself behind the boards or the turntables in the future?

Y: Maybe some production… but I’ll leave the Dj’in up to Mondee… the production should probably be left to Mondee as well that nigga is on some next shiT… wit the MPC

JB: Are you and DJ Mondee an unofficial group?

Y: Yea…..something like that…that’s my homepiss

JB: Do you have a name for the group that we may see in the future?

Y: Nope..Mondee and me just enjoy making music together…and we got a good product…

JB: Are you setting up spots do shows in the future or concentrating more on school?

Y: Right now….it’s all about school…..but I’m hoping to do mad shows in the future…shows are where its at

JB: What’s your most memorable moment onstage?

Y: Hahaaaaaaa…at Wetlands where I lost my balance….on stage….and Cage caught me right when I was about to become part of the audience….

JB: Unintentional stage dive

Y: yea….it was a Kodak moment

JB: Speaking of Cage has he somewhat taken you under his wing as far as doing shows are concerned?

Y: Yea Cage taught me a lot …….schooled me to the ways…

JB: I heard he is kind of crazy

Y: He’s bugged out…..

JB: Are there any projects to look out for from the Weathermen in the future?

Y: everybody is getting their solo shit out…..right now…..Masai Bey is next to drop some shit on Def Jux…….we are looking into recording a album….we’ve got someshit in the works…but its still to early to tell what’s gonna happen

Jb: For all those that don’t know give a little history about the crew

Y: Cage and Copywrite (MHz) started it..it’s named after an organization that started out around when the Black Panthers were flourishing……they would set bombs in public places and shit…some real Fightclub type of Rebellion against the Government type shit.. The Weathermen Frontline consist of….Myself, Copy, Cage, Camu Tao, Tage Proto, Masai Bey, Jakki the Motamouth, EL-P, Breezely Brewin…..Cannibal Ox are the two newest members..

JB: It sort of resembles an evolved Indelible MCs

Y: Except we are on some Longevity shit….ain’t no turning back ….fuck that break up buLLshit that plagues all groups these days

JB: Word I guess personal differences lead to all that

Y: Those differences do not exist within our crew…believe that….

JB: What are some of your non-hiphop related interests?

Y: Digging out chicks……smoking a L…….or taking bonghitS….I write graff….but I really don’t bomb…..drawing and shit………..video games…..dreamcast the Internet is where I’m at as well..

JB: Where can the fans reach you to send you the fan mail you love to receive?

Y: If u wanna get at me…Post up on MhzSite.com….or CagevsAlex.com

JB: Last question, what’s the most important thing in your life right now?

Y: School…I am not trying to be stuck like some of my niggaz u know..i’m trying to break the mold…
