bigmcenroe “Brandon” Podcast Episode 3 ’89 pt. 2

The Peanuts & Corn podcast returns in 2021 with a new series – bigmcenroe (formerly known as mcenroe) hosts the “Brandon” podcast. Over 7 episodes, bigmcenroe will be sharing his new album, which is all about growing up in Brandon, Manitoba in the late 80’s and early 90’s, and discovering music, friends, skateboarding and dating. Hear the tracks from the new album along with other influential tracks, the occasional track from the P&C archives, and stories from the time with special guests.
For episode 3, bigmcenroe is joined by Stefan Goulet, an organizer of skateboard culture in the late 80’s in Brandon. They talk about sharing music, how Stefan brought pro skateboarders to Brandon, and “Spine and Grind” – the legendary skatepark that lasted a short time in the small city. Stefan was among the first to leave Brandon, as he was offered a piece of Sk8 Skates in Winnipeg and co-owned the shop for a decade, while continuing to influence and organize those left behind in Brandon.
