Sole – “It Ain’t Over” (Drake “Over” Detournement)

“Oh yeah,” Cube warned, “it ain’t over, motherfuckers.” Written by pedestrian–at Sole’s request–the morning following the assassination of half-real super-villain Osama bin Laden, this song hijacks Drake’s “It’s Over” and adds an “ain’t” to it.

Not only a celebration of all that is uniquely American, like unmanned drone strikes, Caribbean island dungeons, a tendency to off former employees (WHAT UP SADDAM?), and wars endless and unremembered, the song also considers how “jihad done changed” in the wake of the democratic revolutions still sweeping North Africa and the Middle East.
